Independent podcaster Cheryl Platz takes home Gold and Bronze Signal Awards in 2026 for her podcast that levels up your understanding of how to make games go beyond surviving to thriving.

BELLEVUE, WA – Enduring Play: A Game Development Podcast has been honored as a double winner during the 5th Annual Signal Awards, receiving a Gold in Solopreneur Podcast and a Bronze in Gaming and Actual Play. This honor arrives at the perfect time, as Enduring Play Season 3 launched on October 27, 2026 in a new biweekly format on all platforms.

Enduring Play is more than a look at current games; it is a podcast about established best practices for thriving game development. Created, hosted, and produced by game developer and author Cheryl Platz, the show serves as a companion to her book The Game Development Strategy Guide. The show leverages gaming tropes and Cheryl’s experience as adjunct video game faculty for Carnegie Mellon University to present content into easy-to-follow levels, with context ensuring all listeners can enjoy the conversation, regardless of discipline or experience.

“Layoffs aren’t always logical, and amid all of this chaos in the video game industry are important stories about what’s been done right and what we can learn from our collective misses. Enduring Play is a podcast elevating stories that will help us rebuild the video game industry in a more sustainable way moving forward.” said Cheryl Platz, Creative Director and Owner of Ideaplatz, LLC and Creator/Host of Enduring Play: A Game Development Podcast.

“Podcasting is no longer defined by a single format, platform or approach to storytelling, and this year’s submissions make that evolution impossible to ignore,” said Jemma Brown, GM of The Signal Awards. “Charts and download counts can only tell us what’s popular. At Signal, our role is to notice the creative risks that are quietly changing what everyone else makes next. This year’s Winners offer a first look at podcasting’s next chapter.”

On October 27, 2026, Season 3 launched on all major platforms featuring Dr. Christopher “Mav” Maverick, Assistant Teaching Professor for the University of Pittsburgh’s Digital Narrative and Interactive Design program.

The bonus episode “Making Sense of Chaotic Year in Gaming,” collates insights from all 22 Season 1 and 2 guests into themes, making it a great starting point for new listeners.
